I am writing from the Bay of Islands in New Zealand

We are cutting Radiata Pine through a Baker Band Scragg-mill. Log diameter range is 150mm to 340mm, depending on product being cut. We are experiencing problems with 'wavy cutting' through the scragg mill down the length of the piece being cut. Before we started cutting Radiata, we were cutting Pinus Elliotii and had no similar problems. Does anybody out ther have any advice for us and, preferably, a suggested solution to the problem.

The blades in use at the moment are 'Woodmizer'11/4" through standard Baker 11/4" guides.Although these are not cutting perfectly, they are the best we have tried by a long way. We have tried the whole range of feed-speeds.

Thanks in anticipation

Gary Larkan.
