A quick answer to myself.I slowly increased the rake angle from 22 degrees to 32 degrees. As a result the saw is pulling on the wood, feeding it though more easyly.There is an increase in usage of horse power, but the motor could handle it.
Perhaps my answer could help solve similar problems.
