I would like to know if anyone has noticed a change in bandsaw steel in say the last year and a half or so. I don't mean a difference from one saw company to another but a difference in the saw steel itself. The way it moves under the rolls, maybe being less forgiving of scratches, and a tendency to not have the longevity that it did in the past, and a decrease in the lasticity of the steel. I have been told that there has been a reduction in the nickel content from about 6% to around 2%. If this is in fact true it would go a long way to explaining these symptons. I would be interested in hearing any coments thanks Steve
