### Inserted tooth edger saws

Posted:

**Wed Apr 29, 2009 3:05 pm**I had a friend call me and ask for some help designing some saws for their new inserted tooth edger. Here is what I came up with. I am a little reluctant to increase the tooth bite much more with only 60 HP on the arbor. How does this look?? Any ideas ?? Thanks

saw = 25" diameter (given)

plate = .148" (given)

bits are 5/32" ( would rather have used 1/4" bits but they are going to get really hard to get very soon)

feed speed = 180 fpm

saw rpm = 1400 (given)

number of teeth = 21

max depth of cut = 6"

min. depth of cut = 1"

horsepower = 60 (given)

number of saws in cut at any one time = 3

tooth bite = .073

side clearance = .082
