canter head

Postby sawfin » Thu Nov 05, 2009 1:15 pm

we have a ULSTRUM - CAE 4 knife head with a 60 tooth 25" facing saw this head has left a bad mark on the side boards since it was installed can some one give a set-up for this head with specs on lead where the knife should sit in relation to the saw and how much clearance the anvil needs behind the saw

I breifly worked with a similar head.
Not sure of the exact measurements but the saw should be making the final face, so making sure the knives are behind it. Is the saw or the knives making the mark? If it is the saw make sure all of the teeth have the same side clearance. Not alot of help but it is all i am totally sure of.
