See problems with inaccurately ground teeth...Problems with tooth grinding will cause sawing problems, such as:
Thin plate saws are more sensitive to errors in tooth geometry and sharpness. TKT and Acu-Saw Ltd combined to develop the Tooth Inspector so that filers could directly check the condition of saw teeth. Almost 200 are in service world wide. The Tooth Inspector consists of a 20x magnification microscope mounted on a precision magnetic base. On the base are slides that are ground parallel to the saw plate: these are the reference surfaces for measuring tooth geometry. The instrument can be used for bandsaws and circular saws. A halogen light is also included.

20x Magnification:
Most filing rooms that have a Tooth Inspector use it periodically to check the accuracy of the grinder settings or to determine if tooth preparation is contributing to unusual sawing behavior. The Tooth Inspector is an economical instrument for ensuring that the grinding is on the level required for thin kerf sawing. Manufactured by: Tooth Inspector brochure
