I have been benching circle saws for 15 years and still run across the same problem of getting the proper tension in new guided gangsaws. It seems to take 4 runs, with heavy tensioning between runs, before the saws will show some good tension. The manufacturers don't put hardly any tension in the saws when you order them with tension, so I found it was easier for me to order them with no tension so I wouldn't have to work around areas that they had worked. Over the years I have seen what happens to tension in saws when they get hot in certain areas. I think that you could use heat to get a large amount of tension in new saws. In coming month or so I plan on experimenting with heat tensioning. If anyone has any info on heat tensioning circle saws , please contact me. The saws I plan on experimenting with are 30 inch .110 plate.
