I have only been a sawfiler for about 12 years but have worked in a few sawmills and the following procedure has worked well for me. Your question!! Line up bandmill with track or line up top wheel with bottom wheel? If you want to line top wheel with bottom wheel this has proven to work well for me. 1. Take guide's out of bandmill and strian saw up. 2. Start bandmil up so saw track's where you want it to be in normal run. 3. Use a small square from edge of the back of the wheel to saw and adjust square to fit from back of saw to edge of wheel and mark saw and wheel with crayon. 4. Rotate saw backwards one revolution until you come to your mark. 5. measure with your square agian. If your wheels are not aligned with each other your saw should move backward's or forward. 6. Alway's make your adjusment with your top wheel. 7. If you have a manual for your banmill it will tell you how to adjust your banmill for crossline. 8. After adjusting your top wheel repeat procedure's. 9. If your measurement's are worse you adjusted your top wheel the wrong direction. 10. go back to where you where before adjusting top wheel and adjust the top wheel the other direction 11. Sometime's it doesnt take much.12. Repeat procedure until you have no deviation within your mesurement's. I hope this help's you, I have been in the same situation.
